Alexandra received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Art Education from SUNY College at New Paltz.  She taught Art in Binghamton area schools for more than a decade and conducted several workshops and painting classes prior to moving to Long Island.

Alexandra has won many awards for her works in oil, watercolor and pastel.  Locally, her art has been on display on the Nautical Mile, the Freeport Memorial Library, Oceanside Library, the Art Alcove at  Freeport Recreation Center, in Huntington at the Main Street Petite Gallery and the Art-trium in Melville.A number of her oils, watercolors, pastels and drawings and some of her recent “Russian Heritage” paintings are in private collections.

A few years ago Alexandra began a series of paintings in the decorative and detailed style of the Russian lacquer artists who based their paintings on folk tales and legends.  Her “Russian Folk Tales” are painted with acrylics on black backgrounds, with added touches of metallic paint and gold leaf.  At present there are thirty paintings in the series that illustrate some of the more well-known folk tales such as “The Firebird” and “The Snowmaiden”as well as “Lukomorya”, “The Tale of Tsar Saltan”and “Sadko” from the poetic works of Alexander Pushkin.
